About the Summit

GSUN ‘24 Summit

The GSUN ’24 Summit will bring together international academic experts from around the globe in sports science, engineering, technology and human performance, sports business, humanities, law, journalism and more with industry, sports leagues and federations, and members of the media for a two-day interactive summit focused on identifying current issues, research and solutions in inclusivity in sport performance.

The unique solution-orientated experience includes:

  • Facilitated session designed to engage all participants

  • 2 Plenary Sessions

  • Panels made up of at least two university representatives from at least 2 different institutions, at least one external stakeholder and a moderator from another category

  • Rapid fire presentations

  • Networking opportunities including visits to Autzen Stadium (American Football) and Hayward Field (Athletics)

  • Pre and post event access to the official app to seamlessly navigate, network and engage

  • 1-year membership in the Global Sport University Network

GSUN is committed to inclusivity and diversity. Recognizing the financial constraints that may hinder participation, GSUN offers subsidized tickets to full-time PhD students and delegates from institutions based in low and middle-income countries. 

The initiative is designed to ensure that everyone, regardless of their financial situation, has an opportunity to benefit from the knowledge-sharing, research generations and networking offered by GSUN. Check your eligibility for subsidized tickets.

Travel Information

The summit will begin at 9:00 am on September 12 and conclude at 8:00 pm on September 13, 2024.

The University of Oregon is located in Eugene Oregon.

Eugene is in the South Willamette Valley, this region is a place of happy contrasts. Here a spirited athletic culture is thriving alongside the laid-back pace of river recreation. You’ll find artists, innovators and nature seekers enjoying iconic and hidden places to sip a beer, taste wine, explore history, bike the riverfront or hike to epic views.

The Eugene Airport (EUG) is conveniently located approximately ten miles from campus and many transportation options are listed on the ground transportation webpage.

Accommodation

The Graduate Eugene is the host hotel of the GSUN ’24 Summit. The discounted conference rate expired on August 15, but there are still rooms available at the hotel. Click here to book now.

Breakfast will be served at the hotel the mornings of September 12 and 13 and the summit shuttles will run between the hotel and the University of Oregon for the meeting sessions. 

The Graduate Eugene is located in the heart of downtown Eugene, very close to the University of Oregon Campus and many local venues for shopping, exploring or dining.
